A fighter jet crashed in Russia: the crew did not survive, rosZMI

Share: In Russia, a Russian military plane crashed in the Republic of Karelia. The accident happened near the airport of the city of Petrozavodsk.   The plane crashed in the forest, emergency services are on their way. This is reported by Russian Telegram channels. There is currently no clear understanding of the type of aircraft. The Shot channel reports that the Su-27 crashed. At the same time, channel "112" writes about the downing of the Su-30 plane. They also report that both pilots died.

Baza Telegram channel also confirms the death of both pilots. At the same time, the type of aircraft is not indicated here. As of now, the state media of the Russian Federation have not commented on the tragedy, as has the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. According to Wikipedia, since 2013, the 159th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment has been based at the Besovets airfield (the name of the airfield in Petrozavodsk). In 2016, it was equipped with Su-35S fighters.
