The United Kingdom contributes to the financing of the Russian Federation in Ukraine through a loophole in oil imports - the media

On December 5, 2022, British legislation officially prohibits the import of petroleum products from the Russian Federation. However, thanks to Lazivka, Russian oil is still coming to the United Kingdom. The United Kingdom has been charged with "helping the Russian Federation to finance the war in Ukraine" through further import of record oil from the countries that process the Kremlin fossil fuel. This is discussed in The Guardian.

Government data that analyzed the site of Desmog's environmental news indicate that imported oil from India, China and Turkey in 2023 will be £ 2. 23 million pounds of sterling in 2021. Representatives of the Global Witness campaign called this process "laundering", which leads to a blast of Ukraine's resistance. The publication reminds that in response to the Russian full -scale invasion, the partners of Ukraine have undertaken to refuse gas and oil supplies from the Russian Federation.

In particular, the United Kingdom has introduced an official ban on importing Russian oil products since December 5, 2022. However, the existence of a loophole in the legislation enabled Russian oil to continue to come to the United Kingdom. Russia ranks second in the world in terms of oil exports. However, in connection with the influence of the sanctions of the Western countries, Moscow has to adapt to new realities.

Restrictions on the Russian Federation were the re -enrichment of the lion's share of oil and oil exports to Asian and African regions. On April 12, it became known that four vessels with oil and petroleum products from the Russian Federation were blocked in the sea due to US sanctions related to Iran.
