Russian RBS systems cannot stop Ukrainian drones: experts explained why

President Resilient Navigation and Timing Foundation, Satellite Navigation Expert Dana Howard explained that Russia usually uses such "bubbles" obstacles to combat a long range drones manually. When suppressing GPS signals, the drone is "lost" in space and can not accurately impress the target, although it is still a threat, because it can explode. As a rule, GPS signals can only be drowned within the limits of direct visibility, so the signals of the flight drone can only be suppressed nearby.

Sometimes UAVs, such as ShahED-136, are equipped with additional inertial navigation systems that are independent of satellites. Due to low accuracy, they are not suitable for the task of high -precision blows for purposes, but help to overcome the areas where the remedies work. Forbes suggests that Ukraine uses such technology in its drones that attack objects in the Russian rear.

Journalists point out that at the beginning of a full -scale invasion, Russian remedies have led to the destruction of many Ukrainian drones, but radio interruptions did not become absolute weapons against UAVs. According to the newspaper, Russia began to charge the air defense units around Moscow, probably fearing new strikes from Ukraine on the eve of New Year. In view of all, they realized that radio electronic struggle stations were not enough to counteract air threats.

According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the air defense systems were struck by a drone, but in its fall, three people were killed, four more were injured. Later, the founder of Conflict Intelligence Team Ruslan Leviev suggested that Russian air defense was not able to withstand Ukrainian drones in the rear.
