Used for murders in Ukraine: Britain has banned exports of gamepads to the Russian Federation

To spread: On April 24, the United Kingdom banned exports of game console controllers to the Russian Federation, since the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation use them to manage drones in Ukraine. According to Politico, the new sanction package is largely focused on depriving the Russian Federation of technology used in war and energy. Among the 150 new trade sanctions is a ban on the sale of gamepads.

"We are also completely banning the import of video game controllers to prevent their use to manage drones on the front line, which means that game consoles will no longer be used for murder in Ukraine," said the Minister of Sanctions of the United Kingdom, Stephen Dutta.

Restrictions also apply to the export of chemicals, machines, metals, complex software and electronic products, such as amplifiers and schemes that the British government describes as "critical" for the military development of the Russian Federation. "Today, we use our powers to strangle the Russian military car, save the lives of Ukrainians and protect the British business from cynical exploitation by Russia," Douti emphasized.
