Over 40,000 per year: Poland's record demand for weapons among civilians

The Main Police Department in Poland stated that in 2023 a record number of weapons possession was issued. This was reported by Defense 24. Law enforcement officers have published data from the issuance of weapons possession. The most permits for collectors (17 019), sports (12 363) and personal protective equipment (6242) were issued.

In Poland, there is a surge on the possession of weapons after the start of the full -scale war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. The authors have compared the number of licenses issued over the years: there are now almost 844 thousand units of registered weapons. At the same time, 323 983 people had permits.
