Laser weapons of Ukraine: what is it and how it will fight with the drones of the Russian Federation

Unfortunately, in matters of laser weapons, people for some reason interpret their experience with "star wars" than to the usual Google, where a lot is written about laser weapons. I saw a video of the exams of these weapons more than six months ago. And even then she worked. Maviki and wings at a couple of kilometers burned, until the grove was buzzing. But these parameters were not very arranged by the commander, so the news was not taught.

If Sukharevsky began to talk about it in an interview - well, then the means were able to refine to a level that can already be placed for test combat work. I do not know TTH, I will say right away. What is the "laser weapon" and why it is needed, and why does the SBS do this? The drones have significantly changed the "Accounting of War".

Previously, a valuable rocket was knocked down by another valuable rocket, now to spend a valuable rocket on a cheap drone no longer corresponds to the modern field of battle. The drones allow a relatively cheap "overload" of the air defense system of drono-rocket attacks, waiting for the starting to shoot all the missiles, and then apply the basic blows. I will just remind that one rocket to NASAMS costs $ 1-1. 3 million, and for Petriot-$ 3 million.

That is why modern air defense, which should reflect combined attacks, should have complex means that will allow them to cheaper and more efficiently knock down this crap in the air. The cheapest tool for knocking down drones is laser weapons. The drone itself is not very fast, so focusing on it for a few seconds the laser is not such a problem.

The laser has a very low cost of "one shot", it does not need to be recharged as a carpm and rockets, and you do not need to buy air defense products abroad. Is he "prodigy"? Nit. There are a number of restrictions, and the first is the weather. Rain or fog significantly reduces its efficiency. But as a complex tool, it is part of the future that should take its place in the defense of Ukraine, which is why the same Israel, the USA, England and others are developing in this direction.

The new concept of air defense of Ukraine will be built not only on SPRs and mobile groups, but also on anti -aircraft drones (this also works by SBS) and laser weapons, which will allow you to more efficiently use SDR and car missile reserves, and significantly reduce the average cost of the affected air goals.

Why does the SBS do this, not the aircraft, namely air defense? Well, as I understand, the aircraft is still a more conservative structure, because who saw the prospect in the project and began to develop it - he works. Still, the SBS understands the drone danger in the future, and is more interested in counteracting it and better understands what it can better withstand drones.
