The commander of the Philippine Coast Guard Captain Eirland Lapitan reported that on February 27, a company of four Russians with diving instructor went to dive into the waters of Verde from Puerto Galer in the province of Eastern Mindoro. During the immersion, they were given a strong underwater.

Two Russians (57-year-old Edward Ragudin and 18-year-old Timothy Redudin) were able to go along with the diving instructor, but two others, who were then recognized as Elijah of Perehudin, 29 years old, and Maxim Mielekhov, 39, disappeared. Diving instructor and other divers in the area, together with the staff of the Filipino Coast Guard, immediately began the search, Lapitan said.

According to him, in an hour Melekhov was found unconscious in the sea, and in the hospital of Batangas, doctors stated his death. Perehudina, as reported, was torn the sharks, the arm of the deceased was found separately from the trunk.
