"Terrible weapon": a ground robot of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down a Russian "Zhdun" drone (video)

Share: Soldiers of the unmanned ground systems company of the 93rd Kholodny Yar Brigade Alter Ego destroyed an FPV drone of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation using a ground robotic complex (GRC) with a machine gun. Footage of the work of the Ukrainian NRC was published on the Facebook page of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is reported that the NRK company of the 93rd OMBr Kholodny Yar Alter Ego regularly practices landings in which the enemy is hiding.

In the released footage, you can see that a ground robot shoots down a Russian drone "Zhdun" to clear its way. "Ground drones with machine guns are formidable weapons in the hands of a skilled operator," the publication said. In June of this year, a serviceman of the 117th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade, Oleksandr Takul, said that in the border villages of the Sumy region, drones of the Russian Federation were found sitting on roads, paths and in cities, waiting for targets.

When people or cars approach, these UAVs rise into the air to strike. "Armored cars, pickup trucks, and motorcycles are a fairly easy target for Russian drones, especially "hammer drones", which are very numerous on the line of combat, and which can simply wait up to 6 hours on logistics routes. And when they see a military vehicle driving, they start hunting for it," added Volodymyr Chernyak, an officer of the "Rubizh" brigade.

According to the military, there are few logistical routes on the front line, so their disruption greatly complicates supplies. In such a situation, you have to rely on unmanned ground platforms that can carry up to 300 kg of load, because other equipment becomes easy prey for drones. We will remind you that the Defense Forces of Ukraine are also using attack drones against the Russian occupiers, which are able to wait for the approach of the target in an ambush.
