There were two explosions in the city, which was heard at about 2:00 pm. Local authorities reported the work of air defense. On August 26, two explosions were heard in Zaporozhye. According to the head of Zaporizhzhya Ova, the air defense worked. He reported this in a telegram. At about 2:20 pm in different areas of Zaporizhzhya explosions were heard. Air alarm in the city was not announced. In telegrams, the channels began to publish from the launch of missiles.

Later, Alexander Starukh stated that it had worked. "Without panic! The air defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine worked," Starukh wrote.
