Writer Boris Akunin was made on the international wanted list and arrested in absentia for two months in the Russian Federation

The writer Gregory Chhartishvili, who writes under the pseudonym Boris Akunin, was previously included in the list of "extremists and terrorists" in the Russian Federation. Akunin left Russia in 2014. The Basman District Court of Moscow arrested the writer Boris Akunin in absentia (real name - Gregory Chhartishvili). He is suspected of public justification of terrorism (Article 205.

2) and public dissemination of deliberately false information about the actions of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (Article 207. 3). Akunin was made on the international wanted list. He already commented on the news on his site, noting that he read the message "For a cup of coffee".

The term of the Akunin arrest will be calculated from the moment of its actual detention or transfer to the law enforcement agencies of the Russian Federation, the press service of the Moscow courts said.
