Drones in size from the box help destroy terrorists: how they work

Singapore special forces actively uses UAV-reconnaissance to track terrorists during counter-terrorist operations. Singapore police (SOC) command and police tactical units (PTU) are actively using drones to prevent terrorist attacks and assaults. UAVs play the role of scouts by passing the image to the security forces with the buildings captured by terrorists, writes Straits Times.

Recently, at the Home Team tactical center, Mandai trained, during which law enforcement officers protested drones as scouts. UAVs were transmitted to the officers with clear images in real time, so that they could track the actions of "terrorists". Unmanned aerial vehicles have been used by SOC - an elite police unit of Singapore - since 2023. However, they recently tested a new technology for looking at the UAV images with special glasses.

The headset helped to easily identify people or objects in frames with a resolution of almost 4K, taken in real time. PTU is engaged in public order, as well as security -related operations, including the search for armed criminals and responding to terrorist attacks. Recent events have reminded the public that terror could impress anyone and anywhere. Thus, on March 22, four fighters committed a terrorist attack in the concert hall in the Moscow region, which killed more than 140 people.

On October 3, 2023, two people were killed and five were injured after a 14-year-old boy shot buyers at Siam Paragon in Bangkok. Deputy Police Superintendent, Yudzhin Ooi, PTU Company Commander, said the use of technology was a response to threats. According to him, the use of UAVs also reduces the risks to the officers. The SOC kit includes five drones weighing 350 g to 7 kg.
