The Kaluga turbine plant produced GTD-1000 and GTD-1250 engines with a capacity of 1000 and 1250 horsepower respectively. The Russian Federation declared the manufacture of the GTD-1500 engine on 1500 horsepower, which is excessive for the T-80, which was so range of no more than 480 km.
