NATO allocates over $ 7 million for women in the Armed Forces: How will they use funds

According to the Ministry of Defense, financial assistance will be directed to providing women servicemen with the necessary ammunition and equipment. More than $ 7 million will be allocated by the North Atlantic Alliance for women who serve in the Armed Forces. The US Secretary of State Atony Blinken was announced on the reception after the NATO round table "Women, Peace, Security", the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reports.

These funds will be used for the purchase of 10,000 uniforms, shoes and other necessary equipment. "Too often, Ukrainian servicemen do not have the necessary equipment to meet their unique needs in full. Today we are taking a step to correct this by announcing that NATO member states will allocate more than $ 7 million to buy equipment for women in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We applaud every ally who has made to help in this initiative, "Blinken said.

The Defense Ministry stated that NATO negotiations have been conducted on additional funding since 2023. The progress in this matter was made in March 2024 at the meeting of the Deputy Defense Minister Natalia Kalmykova with a special representative of NATO Irene Felin and NATO's representation chairman in Ukraine Karen Maktir. The parties agreed on consultations and mutual assistance in the implementation of the principles of gender equality in the security and defense forces of Ukraine.
