The Russian Federation has almost doubled the production of "Shahaned" and exceeds the plan for a year - analysts (infographics)

Alabuga supplies more drones to the Russian military, which was initially planned, reaching the numbers at about 6400 by the end of August 2024. Russia has increased the scale of production and use of Shaahed UAVs and exceeds the targets per year. About it writes Institute for Science and International Security. Alabuga industrial zone planned to put 6,000 drones by the Russian army by September 2025, but already exceeded the plan by sending more than 6000 UAVs by the end of August 2024.

Analysts note that if Russia continues to buy all the necessary accessories abroad, then by September next year, another 4,700 "Shahmed" will be made. The fact that Russia produces dozens of drones in Ukraine almost every day also confirms the fact of increasing the production of Shahd. The schedule above compares the number of drones who "Alabuga" planned to contract with Iran with the number of launched drones. In the period from May 2023 to August 2023, these figures coincide.

In September 2023, the figures begin to vary. "Alabuga" supplies more drones to the Russian military than it was initially planned, reaching about 6400 by the end of August 2024. Analysts point out that the number of drones decreased between April and July 2024, when Alabuga produced on average less than one month.

This can be explained by the desire to accumulate drones for further use, a decrease in demand from the Russian military due to changes in priorities and economic restrictions, or the failure in production due to the difficulty of obtaining components from abroad. However, the data in August 2024 indicate a sharp increase in the number of launches of drones.

From August 1 to 31, 2024, Russia made 790 launches against Ukraine, which is almost twice more than 426 launches in the same period in July 2024. From September 1 to September 26, Russia launched 1131 drones, which is almost three times more than 426 attacks in the same period in July 2024. We will remind, on September 26, Defense Express reported that Russia is working with China over the new analogue of Dron Shahd.
