The Bundestag is convinced that the introduction of troops into Ukraine does not make NATO countries by the sides of the war - the media

If one of the Alliance countries decides to assist Kiev with land troops, it is believed that it will act unilaterally. Accordingly, the military unit will not have to do this. The German Bundestag is convinced that if foreign troops are introduced into the territory of Ukraine, it will not do all NATO countries by the parties to the conflict. DPA writes about it. This opinion was voiced by the Research Service of the Lower Chamber.

In her report, which has not been published yet, but she fell into the hands of journalists, representatives of the Bundestag wrote the following: "If the NATO member state operates unilaterally-that is, not within the framework of NATO's previously approved operation and outside NATO military command, no NATO. NATO as a whole, no other NATO partner states become parties to the conflict.

" At the same time, the report states that the introduction of land troops into another territory, including Ukraine, is acceptable under international law. DPA presents the words of the local MP Beatrix von Storch, who asked how the introduction of NATO troops could be influenced by the so -called "Alliance Case", during which other bloc members should support each other.

"If NATO member troops take part in a collective self-defense (Article 51 of the UN Charter) in favor of Ukraine in the existing conflict (between Russia and Ukraine) and will be attacked by the other side of the conflict (Russia) during the fighting in the conflict area, it is not will be the case of Article 5 of the NATO Treaty, " - said Bundestag experts. In addition, Article 5 of the NATO Treaty applies exclusively to NATO countries and those troops that attacked their territory.

But if we talk about the military intervention of French land troops in favor of Kiev, this decision would be based on collective law on self -defense. This paragraph is prescribed in Article 51 of the UN Charter. Accordingly, the decision to introduce troops is acceptable in international law. We will remind, on March 22 it was reported that General of France does not exclude that NATO troops will be sent to Ukraine.
