"The probable restoration of security assistance to Ukraine by the United States is a critical turning point in the war in Ukraine, but the Kremlin, the West and Ukraine still have to make additional decisions that will determine the nature and result of hostilities," the report reads. Analysts have specified that the Kremlin still preserves the possibility of further mobilization of the economy and the population to destroy Ukrainian statehood and identity.
Russia may resort to unpopular decisions within the country if it considers them necessary. Instead, Ukraine faces constant problems related to the formation and support of the Armed Forces and the defense industry.
"The United States and their Western Allies should provide Ukraine with regular and consistent assistance, as well as in a timely and effective supply of new critical systems for the Ukrainian Armed Forces so that Western security assistance has a promptly significant effect," ISW stressed. In recent months, due to uncertainty about the restoration of US assistance, Ukraine has considered a very wide range of forecasts - from the most favorable to the most dangerous possible consequences.
"ISW will probably narrow this range in the coming months, as the consequences of Western aid to Ukraine in the field of security will become clearer, and the Kremlin will decide how to respond to them," the report reads.
We will remind, according to ISW forecasts, in the next few weeks Russian troops activate offensive operations, as well as the intensity of missile attacks, because Ukraine is experiencing a sharp lack of logistical means and awaits help from the United States, which creates for the Russians the "window" of opportunities.
