RF Stroke on the Chernobyl: Rescuers localized a fire on a sarcophagus that protects against radiation

To spread: Radiation background in Kyiv and Kyiv region is currently normal. Exceedances are not observed. The rescue services were able to localize the fire of the external cladding of the protective sarcophagus over the destroyed 4th power unit at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, which arose as a result of the impact of the Russian drone on the night of February 14. The Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Svetlana Grinchuk has informed about it.

"At 21:30 managed to localize the fire of the NBK Arch Arch covering," Grinchuk said. She also emphasized that the radiation background in the exclusion zone is normal and controlled using an automated monitoring system in continuous mode at 39 points. "The data is arrived around the clock at the dispatching center once an hour, and in an emergency situation - every minute. The control levels of capacity equivalent are not exceeded. The radiation situation is under control," Grinchuk stressed.

The Kyiv City State Administration also confirmed that the radiation background in Kyiv and Kyiv region remains normal. "There is no exceeding. Experts are constantly monitoring the situation, measurements are carried out every 3 hours," the KSCA noted. We will remind, on the night of February 14 the drone of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation hit the Chernobyl NPP, as a result of which the sarcophagus caught fire, which protects the world from radiation.
