Russia beats records from oil exports: who is trading with the aggressor

The total export of Russian oil has grown to almost the highest level in four months. Russia continues to increase its oil exports by sea. Thus, in February 2024, the aggressor country managed to reach the maximum of November 2023. On February 28, Bloomberg reports on February 28. As it is noted, the temporary cessation of supplies of Russian raw oil Sokol from Sakhalin Island on the Pacific coast is offset by the rapid increase in ESPO oil supplies from Kozmino port in the Primorsky Territory.

Exports have increased to almost the highest level in four months. Yes, weekly deliveries increased by about 365 thousand barrels daily, reaching 3. 5 million. This is almost 215 thousand barrels a day above the target as of November 5, 2023. So the Russians managed to compensate for the difficulty of supplying Sokol oil. Problems have arisen because of US sanctions, feared by oil refineries in India.

But about 14 cargoes with a total volume of 10 million barrels with oil of this variety are still on ships. "Since December, Moscow has been trying to deliver Sokol oil to India as it is the main market for Russian oil products. At the same time, India's oil refineries are afraid of US sanctions and complain that supplies are too expensive," the publication reads. Journalists also note that three Sokol oil cargoes were delivered to India earlier, and a few more cargoes were redirected to China.

"All seven specialized vessels that export oil from the export terminal were loaded last week, and none of them was able to accept new parties," the article reads. According to the agency, India again imports Russian oil after a two -month break. It is reported that Hindustan Petroleum Corp (hpcl. ns) was being purchased. We will remind, on February 13 it was reported that Russia cannot use part of the fleet for transportation of oil through sanctions.
