Strokes of Ukrainian drones on the refinery: in ISW told what would be with gasoline in

To spread: Ukrainian drones on oil refineries in Russia have led to a lack of fuel and gasoline rise in price. Analysts warn that this will accelerate inflation and worsen the economic situation in the Russian Federation. According to the Institute of War Study (ISW), on August 28, the Ukrainian forces of unmanned systems together with the SBU, SCO and GUR units hit two oil refineries.

The Kuibyshevsky Refinery in the Samara region, which processes up to 7 million tons of oil per year, and an affidship refinery in the Krasnodar region with a capacity of 6. 25 million tons, were shot. Both businesses produce gasoline and diesel and provide fuel with the Russian army. Andriy Kovalenko, the head of the Ukrainian Center for Misinformation, stressed that these plants are key to Russia's military needs.

In addition, on August 27, the Government of the Russian Federation announced the continuation of the ban on export of gasoline. For manufacturers, it was extended until September 30, for non -manufacturers - until October 31. In Russia, there were difficulties in the supply of fuel before the attacks, which has been periodically imposed restrictions on its export since 2022.

The last strikes from Ukraine have increased the shortage and led to a sharp increase in gasoline prices in Russia and in the occupied territories of Ukraine. Analysts say that the fuel deficit will increase business and population costs and accelerate inflation. In general, Russian military bloggers responded sharply to the strikes of Ukrainian drones in oil refineries.

In particular, they emphasized the poor work of air defense systems near strategic objects and acknowledged that the attacks of drones were already causing significant damage to the oil and gas industry of Russia. Separately, bloggers pointed out that the effects of blows are also experiencing ordinary citizens, because gasoline prices are rising rapidly, while production does not have time to cover domestic demand.

In addition to criticism, proposals for strengthening defense were called in the information space: the authors called on more powers to mobile air defense groups, as well as to provide them with low-caliber artillery, portable anti-aircraft missile complexes and radars for the effective detection and destruction of drones.

According to ISW analysts, strokes in deep rear objects remain one of the most painful topics for Russian society and at the same time undermine confidence in the ability of the authorities to protect critically important infrastructure. "The Russian information space accuses the Russian leadership of the inability to protect the Russian military infrastructure from the strikes of Ukrainian drones throughout the full -scale invasion of Russia.

Recall that on the night of August 28 Russia was a massive attack of drones. Powerful blows were attached to large oil refineries in the Samara region and Krasnodar region, resulting in large -scale fires on the sites. The black pillars of smoke climbed high into the sky and covered the cities. Earlier it was reported that after a series of Ukrainian attacks with drones in Russia, a fuel deficit deepens.

In a number of regions, gas stations remained without fuel, its prices increased to record levels, and drivers are forced to stand in long queues for hours. It is now known that only a few enterprises remain intact from the large oil refineries of Russia, which can be the following goals for Ukrainian shock drones. In total, in August 2025, the Defense Forces of Ukraine carried out more than ten effective attacks on the objects of the Russian oil refining industry.
