Russia modernizes KA-52 helicopter: whether cars appeared on the front in Ukraine (photo)

The modernized version of the helicopter received an improved optical-electronic system of GES-451M, the defense complex L418 "Monoblock" and controlled rockets of Lmur. The network has a new modification of the upgraded KA-52M combat helicopter, which is already in service with Russia. Probably, Russian-advanced KA-52 "Alligator" has already appeared on the front and participate in a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The expert Pyotre Butovsky in War Zone told about what the helicopter KA-52M is.

The author of the publication writes that the new KA-52M appeared in three photos posted on the FighterBomber channel on Telegram. One of them has a fresh color, indicating that it has been delivered recently. Meanwhile, it is not possible to determine the location where the photo was made, although it is impossible to exclude that they were made in the occupied part of the territory of Ukraine.

"The report of the use of KA-52M in Ukraine has already appeared in the media, but they have not been supported by any pictures," Butovsky notes. On April 5, 2019, Kamov received a contract from the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation for the implementation of the Avangard-4 research and development work, which was aimed at developing a modernized KA-52m.

Actual works have begun much earlier than provided by the contract, and by this time new equipment and weapons used on KA-52M were almost ready. The first KA-52M made the first flight after the conversion on August 10, 2020. According to the contract, the car was to complete all the tests and be ready for serial production by the end of September 2022.

The helicopter received a modernized optical-electronic system of GES-451M, an updated BCS-50M communication complex, as well as the SUO-806PM weapons management system. The most significant complement to the helicopter is the appearance of a controlled lamur rocket with a range of up to 14. 5 km depending on the height of starting. Other modernization of the helicopter itself was carried out.

The shovels of the carrier screw KA-52M are equipped with a more powerful thermoelement, which allows the helicopter to work in a wider range of temperature, in particular in the Arctic. The chassis is equipped with high -load and durability wheels, the helicopter also has external LED lighting. The crew cabin has improved ergonomics and is better adapted for flights in night vision glasses. KA-52M has a maximum runoff of about 12.

4 thousand kg, a maximum speed of 300 km per hour, a ceiling 5 500 m and a range of 460 km. In the photo, the arrow "1" indicates the optical-electronic system of GES-451M, installed under the front of the fuselage. The Turel has a thermal imager, a television chamber, a laser rangefinder/target, a laser beam removal for anti -tank missiles, as well as a laser tracker of stains.

The system provides increased range of detection and recognition, which corresponds to the range of new weapons, including LMUR missiles. The number "2" arrow points to the UV Rocket Authority (APN) L418-2 of the production of Kazan OJSC "GiPo", which is part of the defense complex L418 "Monoblock". Four such sensors are placed on the sides of the nasal part of the fuselage and on the tail arrow, covering all 360 degrees around the helicopter.

The number "3" arrow indicates a small air intake on the lower side of the fault in the front of the fuselage; On the other hand, symmetrically, another similar air intake. There are no such air intakes in any of the previously marked helicopters KA-52, says Butovsky. It provides cooling of the radar antenna with an active phased antenna lattice (Afar) "Rezet" from the company "Zaslon", which is tested on this helicopter.

The developers claim that this radar is capable of detecting tanks at a distance of up to 30 km. "It is necessary to wait for additional images of KA-52M in his new version to get more clarity on the accurate configuration of this new version, as well as whether he is already in Ukraine or is involved there in the war," the expert summed up. Recall that in June, Russian troops began to use more actively to use shock helicopters KA-52 in the south of Ukraine.
