The Russian Federation is trying to freeze the war in Ukraine to start a new offensive in the spring - Stoltenberg

NATO Secretary General believes that in the winter months, hostilities will go into a calmer phase. However, both Ukrainian and Russian troops intend to regroup and re -arry their forces. Russia is trying to freeze the war in Ukraine for winter to regroup, restore its strength and start a new offensive in the spring. This was stated by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in an interview with Financial Times.

"What we see now is that Russia is trying to freeze this war, at least for a short period of time so that they can regroup, repair, recover, and then try to start a greater next spring offensive," he said. Stoltenberg noted that during the winter, hostilities in Ukraine will move into a calmer phase. However, both Ukrainian and Russian troops intend to regroup and re -arry their forces, so Western allies should continue to assist Ukraine.

The Alliance Secretary General also noted that Russia now does not show signs of readiness for peace talks. He believes that the war in Ukraine will end in a diplomatic way, but at first victories on the battlefield are required. "Most of the wars, and most likely this war, end at the negotiating table, but what happens at this table depends entirely on the situation on the battlefield," Jens Stoltenbereh added.
