The young singer from Ukraine refused to share the scene with the Russian: the Foreign Ministry noted her thanks (video)

The artist from Ukraine made a speech calling to support Ukraine instead of a vocal number at the Italian Festival. Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba celebrated her thanks "for the victory of the spirit in cultural diplomacy" for this act. The 13-year-old Ukrainian singer and winner of the Black Sea Games 2021 "Sofia Samolyuk refused to perform at the Sanremo Junior festival in Italy because of unwillingness to share a scene with an artist from the Russian Federation.

Natalia Medveeva posted the corresponding video on social networks. Instead of singing, the Ukrainian singer made a speech in which she expressed his indignation at the presence of Russians at an international competition. "I cannot sing on the same stage with a representative of a terrorist state. I thank everyone for understanding. I firmly believe that next year there will be no terrorist countries here. Please support Ukraine," Samolyuk said.

She reminded the audience from the stage that the Russian Federation kills Ukrainian children. "This girl is an example for those who still seek" good Russians "and cannot decide on their own position on the terrible war of Russia against Ukraine. An example of how a clear civic position unites us - from the smallest to the oldest," the press service wrote MKIP.

Representatives of Samolyuk told the Ukrainian Pravda reporters that the organizers announced the participation of performers from Russia a few hours before the start of the competition, which took place on May 3. The country of aggressor at the festival was represented by singer Kiril Yezhov. On May 5, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba published a video on social networks, which commented on the act of 13-year-old Ukrainian.

"13-year-old Sofia Samolyuk refused to speak at a children's vocal festival in San Rum because of the presence of a representative of Russia and struck the whole world with her speech. Without singing a single word, but having said important words, she won for Ukraine in San Remo,"-he said Kuleba. The Foreign Minister thanked Samolyuk and reported that he celebrates her special thanks "for the victory of the spirit in cultural diplomacy".
