Will be able to run rockets: The network shows 54-meter sea drone USX-1 Defiant (video)

Extend: The Agency for Advanced Defense Research Projects of the United States (Darpa) is tested by a new naval drone called USX-1 Defiant, developed within the Nomars (No Manning Required Ship). The DEFIANT drooping ship is 54 meters long and 240 metric tonnes are designed to work in the sea for up to a year without human intervention. Drron testing shots appeared on Darpa YouTube channel.

"Having eliminated the presence of a person from all reasons in the projection of the ship, the program intends to demonstrate significant advantages, including: size, cost, reliability at sea, greater hydrodynamic efficiency, survivability in the marine state and resistance to the enemy's actions due to inconsistency and resistance to intervention," Defense Express drew attention to the fact that except for the masts with antennas, running lights, cameras and radar on the deck there is nothing else.

Experts noted that the deck is not just so, because it is a multifunctional sea drone that can carry both cargo and weapons. For example, the USX-1 Defiant conceptual model was depicted with a standard marine container. One drone can withstand at least two such containers. The publication also states that it was suggested to use the adaptable Deck Launching System on 4 RIM-162 ESSM missiles to destroy the air goals. The drone can probably carry up to four such systems.
