Journalists found that Judge Lyudmila Arestova from 2018 to 2022 spent 250 days in the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea. Journalists of the Scheme Program suggest that in the judge of the Donetsk District Administrative Court Lyudmila Arestova is Russian citizenship. About it reports "Radio Liberty". It stated that the judge received the Russian passport on April 10, 2014 in accordance with the so-called "Crimean Acceptance Treaty to Russia" in 2014. According to the document, citizens of Ukraine and stateless persons living at that time on the territory of the peninsula were recognized by Russian citizens. Journalists also found that Arestova spent more than 250 days in the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea between 2018 and January 2022.

In a comment to Scheme, the judge noted that she did not have a Russian passport, although she could "give it out", as well as all registered inhabitants of Crimea after the pseudo -referendum in the spring of 2014. Arestova also added that she really visited the peninsula in the specified period as she visited her elderly parents. However, journalists claim that the judge still used her Russian passport at least once when the coronavirus test in the territory uncontrolled in Ukraine.

Media representatives managed to obtain this information from the database of the Russian Private Medical Laboratory "Hemotest". In July 2022, due to the leakage of information, the Russian court fined the medical facility by 60 thousand rubles. During the passage of the Crownavirus Arestov's coronavirus, she indicated the data of her Russian passport. Hemotes also confirmed the journalists that patients must present the original passport of the Russian Federation to pass the coronavirus test.

According to Arestova, history with her Russian citizenship is not new. The State Bureau of Investigation summoned the judge for questioning, and searches were conducted in her home and at work. Arestova believes that the case against her has been fabricated and tries to defend her right for two years. Ludmila Arestova has been working in Sevastopol since 2001. She went a career path from the prosecutor's assistant to the deputy head of the apparatus of the local district administration.
