Humanitarian Nightmare: 10 million Ukrainians were left without electricity due to Russian attacks - UN Secretary General

The UN stated that all major Ukrainian power plants and transmission systems were injured by Russian missile attacks. UN Secretary General Anthony Guterrish stated that 10 million consumers in Ukraine, including families, enterprises, hospitals and schools, were left without access to electricity. Years will take years to restore seriously destroyed homes, sources of existence and vital infrastructure. The words of Guterrish quotes the UN site.

The United Nations Secretary General has made an international conference from Ukraine in Paris. "The war in Ukraine is a continuous humanitarian nightmare. Every day is getting worse, the temperature is falling," Guterres said. According to him, all large power plants and transmission systems in Ukraine were affected by Russian rocket strikes. The extent of destruction across the country needs decisive support of the international community that goes far beyond humanitarian assistance.

"We need to invest in a sustainable restoration and reconstruction of Ukraine to prevent the current crisis to grow into poverty, famine and the need for millions of Ukrainians," Guterysh said. Earlier, Focus wrote that a conference in Paris approved a funding of more than a billion dollars to support Ukraine during the winter. Financing has promised to provide 46 countries and 24 international organizations.
