Advantage in logistics: experts named one of the reasons for the success of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation near Pokrovsk

According to analysts, the occupiers managed to establish a railway connection on the route Avdiivka - reed. And to protect his echelons with military cargoes, the enemy used an armored train. After the capture of the village of Ocheretyne, which in Donetsk region, in May 2024, Russian troops established a railway connection, which significantly changed the logistics situation in the region.

According to the Intelschizo OSINT analyst, the launch of the Avdiivka branch-reeds allowed the occupiers to reduce the "logistics shoulder" to several kilometers, which gave them the advantage in the Pokrovskaya direction. The analyst mentioned the so-called "king-train" 30 km long since 2000 freight wagons, which Russia launched in early 2024.

Initially, the train was a defense structure, but it was later revealed that it was used to protect echelons with military cargoes in the Volnovakha, increasing the survival of logistics routes. Commenting on the publication, the Defense Express reviewers noted that in the photos of radar intelligence (SAR) during the period from May 2024 to January 2025, an intensive movement of Russian echelons was recorded. Rail cargo warehouses are likely to be unloaded in both Avdiivka and reeds.

At the same time, there is no data on the Ukrainian defense attempts on this infrastructure yet, although the fact of high intensity of movement indicates the importance of this route for Russian logistics. It was also stated that the station in reed was destroyed as a result of Russian shelling in 2022-2023. However, the enemy organized the infrastructure repair at the minimum required level.

Methods similar to Russia's experience in Abkhazia may have been applied: manual motion regulation, locomotive traction and operation for complete depreciation. "It seems that the army of the Russian Federation tried to finally realize the rice that Western analysts were attributed in her works in early 2022, namely - the ability to rely on rail transport during offensive operations," experts summed up.
