Russia creates a drone "dagger": what a drone capable of (photo)

According to Army Recognition observers, its use is especially relevant against the background of active use of reconnaissance and shock drones in the war zone in Ukraine. The maximum speed of the device is 300 km/h. The nasal part has a thermal imaging IR sector, which allows the drone to be on its own.

It is noted that all the components of "daggers" were made by Russian companies: frames and fuselage-LLC "Farmplast", electric motor-"pro-technologs", screws-LLC "Vector", and electronics control-"Kraty". The design of the drone is similar to the previously presented kinetic interceptor "Christmas tree", which is already used in the war zone. Thus, "dagger" can become part of the complex system of the Russian air defense of the near radius of action.

Analysts emphasized that despite the presentations, none of the Russian platforms to intercept UAVs has yet passed a large -scale combat deployment. Unlike Ukraine, where mass production of interceptors is already established, Russia takes only the first steps. In general, according to Western experts, the idea of intercepting air targets with drones originates from the Cold War, but has only developed in 2010 with the advent of decisions such as Raytheon Coyote.

Today, kinetic drones are seen as a cheap alternative to anti -aircraft missiles in the fight against small and middle class UAVs. And the "dagger" presentation points to Russia's desire to reduce the lag in this area and move from research to serial production.
