The Russian Federation promotes the Su-57 market, but they have a strong competitor: what will offer China (photo)

The Marshal of India, retired, Anil Chopra believes that with the rapid development of stealth technologies and an increase in the J-20 fighter park, China strengthens its position in the global aviation segment. The Air Force of 19 countries already in service with the 5th generation fighters, and Russia is trying to promote its SU-57 in these conditions. One of the potential buyers is India, who at one time abandoned these cars.

However, Russian aircraft has a rather strong competitor-Chinese CHEngDU J-20 "Mighty Dragon" fighter. A detailed analysis of the capabilities of the two aircraft was given by the Marshal of the Air Force in the retired Anil Chopra in The Eurasian Times. The expert notes that India seeks to create his own fifth-generation fighter-Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (Amca), but the Russian Su-57 still continues to stay on the agenda.

While the F-35 is not available to the Indian Air Force due to the purchase of the C-400 system, the potential acquisition of the SU-57 can be a temporary measure. This raises the question of comparing the SU-57 with other modern fighters such as Chinese J-20 "Mighty Dragon". Su-57 is a two-two-purpose fighter that began in 1999 under the T-50 designation. The first flight took place in 2010, and in 2017 it was renamed SU-57.

The official adoption of the Russian PCS has taken place in 2020, and now 32 aircraft have been built. The fighter is designed to complete the tasks of combating the preference in the air and the defeat of surface goals. Its main qualities include secrecy, excessiveness, flight range, modern avionic and high capacity. Su-57 is equipped with AL-41F1 engines with a controlled thrust vector, which provides him with exceptional maneuverability.

Internal compartments of weapons make it possible to carry missiles of various types, including hypersonic rocket "Dagger". The aircraft is also equipped with a system of refueling in the air, which increases its flight range to 1500 km. Despite the attractiveness of the SU-57, its development has encountered numerous technological and financial problems. During the tests, the disadvantages in the strength of the structure were revealed, which required re -ejection.

As a result, as well as the sanctions related to the war in Ukraine, the production and implementation of the aircraft has slowed down significantly. The main competitor Su-57 is Chinese J-20, also known as "Mighty Dragon". Both fighters, according to Chopra, belong to the 5th generation and have similar characteristics, such as secrecy and high maneuverable qualities. However, the J-20 is already in service with NVAK and is actively used, while the SU-57 is still in the deployment stage.

The J-20 "Mighty Dragon" is a two-row stealth fighter, designed to gain preference in the air and draw accurate shocks. Since its first flight in January 2011, this aircraft became a key element of Chinese Air Force, demonstrating a high level of technological and combat readiness. The aircraft has an elongated fuselage, a displaced nasal compartment and a frameless visor.

Insufficient air intakes (DSI) and continuous turnover wings with pronounced dihedral arrows provide excellent characteristics at supersonic and transcombrace speeds. The "mighty dragon" is equipped with Type 1475 (KLJ-5) with an active electron scan grate (AESA). Six -optical Distributed Aperture System sensors improve situational awareness for the pilot. Initially, the J-20 used Russian engines AL-31FM2. Currently, the aircraft is equipped with a WS-10C Chinese engine with a thrust of 142-147 kN.

The main compartment of the J-20 weapons houses the Large Air-Air Class rockets (PL-12, PL-15, PL-21) and high-precision ammunition. Two lateral compartments are intended for low range missiles (PL-10). The aircraft is also equipped with four external rigid points for invisible missions and ferry flights. The Indian expert emphasizes that J-20 is an example of how China has gone on dependence on Russian technologies to the creation of its own advanced weapons.

Thus, China and Russia will compete in the markets of Africa, Western and Southeast Asia, offering their planes at competitive prices (the cost of Su-57-up to $ 35 million). Meanwhile, with the rapid development of stealth technologies and an increase in the J-20 park, China strengthens its position in the global aviation space. "The American F-35 could be a great option, but it is not officially considered.
