China has set up the latest wheel tanks ZTL-19: what is known about the technique

The basis of the structure was a updated chassis with a more powerful engine and automatic transmission, combined into an integrated power module. One of the prominent innovations of the ZTL-19 was double water meters in the feed part of the housing, which provide amphibian capabilities at 8-10 km/h during the forcing of water obstacles. This makes the machine universal in difficult geographical conditions, including river and coastal zones. The machine is equipped with a new 105-mm high-pressure rifle with low return. The cannon is created with the use of modern materials that increase pressure resistance and improve ballistics.

The absence of a muzzle brake reduces the demanding effect of the shot and increases the comfort of the crew. The ammunition includes: the tank tower is equipped with a charging machine and a panoramic sighting system, which enables the operator and the commander to conduct intelligence and aiming at the same time. This solution increases the speed of reaction and tactical efficiency in a dynamic combat environment.

With the combat mass, about 25 tons the machine provides: ZTL-19 reservation is made using high-strength steel and modular composite elements, which allows to carry out rapid modernization and adaptation to the level of threats. In general, the machine is designed to support the mechanized units, especially in conditions that require high mobility and rapid response. Its introduction increases the possibilities of the People's Liberation Army of China in combat at various theaters of war.
