Russian propagandists claim that due to its lightness, the BMP-3 is able to driv...

In the Russian Federation, they declared the "invulnerability" of BMP-3 to mines. The realities of war speak of the opposite (video)

Russian propagandists claim that due to its lightness, the BMP-3 is able to drive through mines without getting any harm. " However, since February 2022, about 400 such machines have been visually confirmed. At the beginning of March, the press service of the State Corporation "Rostech" published an interesting post, which stated that the Russian BMP-3 "was able to safely overcome mine barriers.

" In this regard, the Defense Blog's observers write that such a statement was met by military experts and analysts with skepticism and surprise, since the fighting in Ukraine clearly testifies to the opposite. Russian weapons claim that the BMP-3 machines made by the mound-factory, allegedly capable of safely overcome by minefields without damaging. The statement is based on the lightweight design of the machine, which, as Rostekh states, allows it to pass through the mines unharmed.

"Due to its lightness, this technique is capable of passing the mines without getting any harm,"-said in the message "Rostekh", made during the transfer of the next BMP-3 party to Russian troops. These words have caused a discussion because of their sharp contrast with the indicators in real fighting, in particular in Ukraine.

BMP-3, which replaced the famous Soviet BMP-2, has a body and aluminum alloy tower, supplemented with steel external straps, lateral armored panels and double bottom in the front of the machine. Despite these design features, hostilities in Ukraine after a full -scale invasion of Russia in February 2022 testify to another reality.

"From the beginning of the conflict, about 400 BMP-3 vehicles have been visually confirmed, which emphasizes their vulnerability to modern anti-tank agents, such as Javelin missile and non-exclusive Carl Gustav guns, as well as to ordinary ammunition, for example, mine," experts emphasized. Moreover, numerous videos that are spreading on the Internet recorded the moments of BMP-3 on mines, which indicates the lack of adequate measures of mine protection and leads to significant crew losses.

Because of this, Russian servicemen often prefer to move on the roof of the car to increase their chances of survival in the event of a mini. "Despite the efforts of Russian propaganda to present the BMP-3 as a mine machine, empirical data from the battlefield draw a different picture, calling into question the accuracy of official statements about the possibilities of this technique," the observers concluded.
