The frames confirm the fact of its use on the front, and also make it possible to consider the features of the structure. The M93A3 Heron system itself was developed by the Croatian company Duro Dakovic Special Vehicles Ltd and adopted by Croatia in the early 2000s. It is able to fire with single rockets, or a volley of 2-40 shells, covering an area of 200 by 300 meters at a range up to 8 km.
The RSSU uses 70 mm unmanaged fragmentation and Fugas missiles HE70 TF M95, which are equipped with a contact detonator and a combat part of 1. 95 kg. There is also a nurs with inflammatory and smoke. The shells are supplied and transported in standard blockage of 6 pieces. The artillery system is made in the form of a trailer installation weighing 900 kg in empty state and 1250 kg with full equipment. The length of the complex is 3. 15 m and the height is 1. 4 m.
Thanks to compact dimensions it is easier to transport and mask it, which is especially relevant in the conditions of a positional war. One of the key features is the remote control, which allows to start up to 25 meters, which reduces the risks for calculation in the conditions of domination of drones on the battlefield.
The technical characteristics of the Defense Express System System suggest that supplies could be made from an existing Arsenal of the Croatian Army, which numbered up to 20 such installations. A less likely option to order new systems, although ammunition could well be purchased from Croatian MIC. The M93A3 installation is no longer the first Croatian RSSU in the Ukrainian arsenal.
