Biden will strengthen financial sanctions for the assistance of the Russian Security Service - the White House

Washington noted that restrictions in the financial sphere will allow to find goods that are of key importance for the ability of the Russian Federation to create weapons and stop their supply to the country. On December 22, US President Joe Biden will sign a decree against financial structures related to supply to Russia's military-industrial complex. This was reported by the senior representative of the Presidential Administration in the White House during a press conference with journalists.

As noted in Washington, Russia has spent a lot of time and resources to find ways to evade restrictions and export control: it has created false companies that used financial intermediaries to bypass sanctions and get critical components for war.

"The new decree of the President will give us an instrument that will allow us to pursue financial institutions that have not been able to ban their companies to deliver goods to Russia's military-industrial complex, or to get out of business with Russia altogether," the speaker said. He called Biden's decree "surgical instrument", which will allow the persecution of financial institutions that contribute to Russia's military-industrial complex.

The White House was given a list of components that are of key importance for the ability of the Russian Federation to create weapons: "This tool will be the first to allow us to use secondary restrictions to pursue financial institutions," the White House said. It should be noted that the United States spoke with the heads of states and banks on the inadmissibility of financial assistance for the Russian Federation for two years.

"The President instructed the secretary to think about how to bring Russia to justice, while limiting the influence on our allies and partners. And this continues to remain our goal. And with the signing of the President, we have a tool that enables them to be held accountable for us. ", - the senior representative of the administration said. According to him, the new rules will be reported to American and European banks to transmit all information to their correspondents.

"We strive to do two things: first, to refuse Russia in access to the income necessary for this chosen war in Ukraine; and, secondly, to" sprinkle sand "into the mechanisms of Russian military machine and break their supply chain,"- added the speaker. We will remind that almost five million barrels of Russian oil "Sokil" did not reach Indian oil refineries.
