Unabomber was arrested in 1996 after a nearly 20-year series of explosions and served a life imprisonment in Colorado. Ted Kaczynski, a convicted terrorist known as Unabomber, was found dead in his prison chamber on Saturday morning. The death of Unabomber, who was 81 years old, was confirmed by a representative of the Federal Bureau of Prisons, reports the American TV channel AVC.

Kaczynski served a lifelong term without the possibility of parole number 04475-046 in Adx Florence, a federal administrative prison of a particularly strict security regime in Florence, Colorado. But in December 2021 he was transferred to a medical facility in North Carolina because of poor health. Kaczynski, who was able to hide from the police and the FBI for almost 20 years, was arrested in 1996 in his house in Montana. Ted Kaczynski was considered the "most successful" terrorist of America.

According to the authorities, in the period from 1978 to 1995, Kaczynski laid or sent 16 bombs, as a result of which three people were killed and two dozen were injured. In 1995, before he was recognized as Unabomber, he demanded that the newspapers published a long manuscript written by him, saying that otherwise the murders would continue.

Both the New York Times and the Washington Post published a manifesto of 35,000 words later that year on the recommendation of the US Prosecutor General and the FBI Director. If it were not suspicious of his brother and daughter -in -law, Ted Kaczynski may not have been caught. Kaczynski's daughter -in -law, Linda Patrick, was one of the first to identify him as Unabomber after reading a letter published in the media.

She learned some language turns and ideas, as she had previously seen them in letters sent by Ted to her brother and her husband David. He could not believe that his brother is a terrorist because he, he said, was not a "cruel man. " But when the police and the FBI burst into Ted's hut, they found a ready -made bomb there, many components for creating explosives and a 40,000 pages magazine that contained bombs and confessions in crimes.

Kaczynski has suffered a court in Sakramento, California, where his fault, but his mental health and whether he is deprived of the death penalty, was a key issue. In 1998, he found himself guilty of killing for life imprisonment without early release. Unabomber is the abbreviation from "University and Airline Bomber". Kaczynski sent his bombs universities and airlines. He was born in 1942 and from an early age was considered a prodigy.

Theodore John Kaczynski joined Harvard at the age of 16, won a doctorate in mathematics at the University of Michigan. At the age of 25, he became a senior teacher at the University of California in Berkel, but was fired in two years. Ted settled in a house in Montana without electricity and water supply, produced food hunting and lived for money from his relatives. He was outraged by the destruction of wildlife, so he began with small acts of sabotage, and sent his first bomb in 1978.

It was intended for Professor Development of Buckley Christa, who worked at the Northwestern University. The injury was a police university that picked up the package. After that, Unabomber sent bombs to all famous US universities. One of the bombs, which got aboard the American Airlines airliner, heading from Chicago to Washington, did not explode, but began to smoke, the poisoning of combustion products received 12 passengers. In total, three people were killed and 23 were injured.
