Journalists point out that the Magovven statement was heard after the British Defense Minister Grant Shappps told members of Parliament that he had lobbied before Prime Minister Richa Sunac and Finance Minister Jeremi Hunt, allocating more funds for defense in the last budget, but did not have increased.
