The fact is that the tourist used the translator on his phone to translate the word "grenade" and order fruit juice. He immediately showed a message to the Portuguese employees of the restaurant, but it turned out that the text had the word "grenade". Portuguese word "grenades" sounds like "rommail" and "grenade" - "granada".

In Russian, these words are almost identical, so the application has missed this moment, which led to the linguistic Confusion. The waiter perceived the written proposal as a threat, so fearing for the lives of other clients and citizens who passed by, a decision was made to call the police. When law enforcement officers arrived in place, a tourist from Azerbaijan was about to leave the institution.

On the video published on the network you can see that he was ordered to lie on the ground, put on shades, and then taken to the police station for interrogation. He did not have any weapons with him, but in the hotel room the man was still searched. Lisbon police also viewed databases and turned to sources from the anti -terrorist coordination unit of Portugal, but found nothing to the tourist. Only then he was released.
