According to the representative of the department, the helicopter fell at about 11:00 (07:00 in Kyiv time) at the Frunze-1 air base in the Dotuk neighborhood. As reported by the local KABAR publication in the Ministry of Defense of the country, the MI-8 made a forced landing during a training flight. In addition, according to the Kyrgyzstan Ministry of Defense, the accident is affected. The media reported that one person was killed as a result of the accident, seven injured.

On the same day, a Russian MI-8 military helicopter also fell in the Bryansk region. The vehicle crashed in the city of Klinka, located 45 km from the border with Ukraine. It is very close to Istivka, where Su-34 fell.
