From June 4, the Armed Forces came at least three sections - isw (map)

Ukrainian troops moved from defense to the offensive in the Bakhmut area and were able to move on the city's flanks for a distance of 200 meters to almost two kilometers. The Defense Forces of Ukraine have taken offensive actions that unfold from June 4, at least three sections of the front and have received different results. This is stated in the report of the Institute of War Study (ISW).

In the west of Zaporizhzhya region, on the night of June 7 to June 8, as analysts indicate, Ukrainian defenders were able to hold a limited offensive. Ukrainian troops moved from defense to the offensive in the Bakhmut area. The units advanced on the city's flanks from 200 meters to almost two kilometers. Ukrainian troops have achieved tactical success in the western part of Donetsk region. This applies to the front area near the border of the Donetsk-Zaporizhia region.

According to analysts, Russian troops were adhered to in reflecting on this attack of the norms of their doctrine. It was also reported that on this day Ukrainian troops lost vehicles provided by the Allies. In general, Ukrainian attacks on June 8 in Western Zaporozhye do not reflect the full volume on the scale of the Armed Forces. ISW suggested that Ukraine's offensive actions will probably be about much broader aspects.

Less efforts do not reflect the maximum potential of Ukrainian number or efficiency. It is also stated that Ukraine could form 12 special offensive crews. Experts emphasized the stable situation in the Armed Forces with reserves, as only part of a large reserve of forces available for offensive operations was involved, and the observers should avoid reports that the Ukrainian brigades have destroyed or damaged Western weapons as an indicator of residual effective combat capability.
