Defense Express experts told about why the Fleet of the Russian Federation is "illusory". The experts explained that two ships of the Russian Navy-the Marshal Shaposhnikov Frag (Project 1155m) and the cruiser "Varangian" (project 1164 "Atlant") took part in the naval exercises. The peculiarity of two naval ships of the Russian Federation is not their capacity, but the time of manufacture and opportunities that were laid in the USSR.

Ships built on old patterns "have limited functionality" and are intended exclusively for blows to the great aircraft carriers of the enemy, - the article said.

Defense Express experts summarized that several arguments testify to the weakness of the fleet. First, the Russian Federation does not build new ships, but so far only shows their layouts at different exhibitions. Secondly, it loses the Black Sea Fleet as a result of Ukraine's strokes, which does not have a fleet at all. Third, everything that Russia can ride is a cruise and a frigate that is 40 years old.

Meanwhile, China showed three ships built in the 21st century: 052D type destroyer (operated since 2018), a Frigate of type 054A "Lina" (since 2012) and a ship of comprehensive provision of "Donpinh" (since 2015). In addition, the Chinese fleet has eight destroyers of the type 055 - cruisers, as "Varang", but with much more modern opportunities, completing the third aircraft carrier "Fujiang" and plans to build the fourth. At the same time, Iran creates an "asymmetrical" fleet.

In particular, not large cruisers or aircraft carriers are built, but excess and underwater drones, boats with anti-ship missiles and Catamrans.
