Reusable interceptors with poles were invented in Russia: how they shoot down drones of the Armed Forces

Share: Russian troops began to actively use simple reusable interceptor drones against the drones of the Defense Forces of Ukraine. They are equipped with a long pole that damages the propeller of the UAV, but the interceptor itself remains intact and is returned to the operators for relaunch. The 137th Territorial Defense Battalion reported on this technology on its Facebook page.

Drones with poles are much cheaper than "kamikaze" because they do not need an expensive warhead and do not break down on impact, and therefore can be used many times. The 137th battalion believes that the Ukrainian military should pay attention to this decision, as it allows economically profitable destruction of reconnaissance and other drones, which are ten times more expensive.

The director of strategic communications of the Unmanned Systems Research Center, which manufactures UAVs, Rudolph Hakobyan in his comments called the solution ineffective in combat conditions. According to him, it is very difficult for the operator to hit the propeller of an enemy drone with a pole. In response to him, military serviceman Anton Arestov said that his unit rammed Russian UAVs with the help of FPV drones with a "stick".
