"No place to terrorists": the Russian Federation for the first time did not get to the UNESCO Executive Council - Yermak

The head of OP noted that Russia has repeatedly fired Ukrainian cities, historical buildings, objects from the UNESCO security zone of the United Nations on Education, Science and Culture (UNESCO) for the first time did not choose the Russian Federation in the Executive Council. The head of the Presidential Office of Ukraine Andriy Yermak has informed about it on Telegram. "This is very important.

Russia has repeatedly fired at Ukrainian cities, historic buildings, objects from the UNESCO security zone," Yermak said. He also wrote that there is no place for terrorists in the civilized world. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy also responded. He wrote in X (Twitter) that Russian terrorists were not a place at the head of important international organizations. Russia's international role will only weaken.

"For the first time in history, Russia was expelled from the UNESCO Executive Council. The era of Russian influence has ended, and this is right: Russian terrorists are not a place at the head of important international organizations. Russia will only weaken the international role of Russia," the Head of State wrote. The Executive Council is the UNESCO governing body between the sessions of the General Conference, which defines the main directions of the organization.

It prepares the work of the conference and oversees the implementation of specific decisions, determines the methods and forms of practical activity of the organization. The basic responsibilities are defined in the UNESCO Charter. It should be reminded that on November 10 it became known that Russia was not elected for the first time in the UN International Court of Justice.
