The Russian Army began to receive a new modification of the T-72B3 tank: what is known (photo)

The publication states that during the modernization, Russian engineers abandoned the built-in modules of dynamic protection "Contact-5", installing a more powerful "relic" instead. This is noticeable by the changed design of the upper frontal body part. For its part, the "miller" observers noted that the concern "Uralvagonzavod" made changes in the process of restoration of the old Soviet T-72B, removing them from "tank cemeteries" and bringing compliance with new requirements.

Now these tanks are maximally unified with T-90m, which simplifies their maintenance and logistics. Additional dynamic protection modules are now installed on forage screens, which was previously used only on T-90m. The tank also received a factory antitrone add -on with dynamic protection elements and soft rubber protection in the form of so -called "burdock".

Compared to previous versions of T-72B3 modernization, the new modification has a larger overlap area with dynamic protection, which reduces the vulnerability of the machine in front of high-precision attacks, including FPV-aid. Thus, the T-72B3 tank of the 2024 sample has the following characteristics: experts also drew attention to the report in the Russian media, which discussed experiments with the installation of towers from the T-72B3 on the T-90M chassis.

This may indicate the testing of the tower electronics in combination with the auxiliary power plant. Such modernization, for its part, may be associated with the possible integration of the Arena Arena (Kaz) complex designed to intercept anti -tank missiles. Similar systems are already developed for T-90m. We will remind, in early February the Russian enterprise presented the first sample T-90m with the complex "Arena-M".
