"Blow Below" for Pistorius: in Germany created homemade "umbrellas against Putin", - bild

On the modern battlefield, thermal imagers help determine the enemy's position. And the sniper will not find if he hides behind an umbrella. Near NATO Steadfast Defender was trained near Norway, with the participation of the 23rd Mountain-Rifle Bundeswehr. About it writes Bild Correspondent Sebastian preenhal. According to him, the German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius visited these exercises in early March. In addition to modern weapons, he also received as a gift an umbrella for masking snipers.

The military noted that at the front, the enemy's positions are calculated using thermal imagers. If the sniper is hidden behind an umbrella, it cannot be found. In turn, the military complained that they had to make such umbrellas on their own without waiting to order from the Ministry of Defense. According to Predgel, this situation is a "blow below the belt" for Pistorius, which is responsible for the proper equipment of the Bundesver against the background of a probable conflict with Russia.

"The new secret weapon of the Bundeswehr is umbrellas against Putin," the journalist said with irony. In the press service of the Land Forces, they responded to the request of Bild, emphasizing that sniper "always characterizes greater specialization and individualization of personal ammunition", and "a personal supplement to equipment is an expression of motivation and creativity of soldiers.

" In a conversation with Bild, a military expert who has the experience of hostilities in Ukraine, noted that in Europe there are already "two specialized textile companies in the sphere of thermumophlas and anti -thermal processing of textiles, and they also work with modern camouflage algorithms. " He also added that his snipers should be made of such a fabric that they do not have to be hidden behind an umbrella.

In his opinion, the war in Ukraine helped to accelerate the development of reconnaissance drones, which are able to detect the enemy bypassing any umbrella. On March 12, it became known about the intentions of the Bundeswehr to bring all the available Taurus to combat readiness. According to the existing estimates, there are approximately 600 such missiles in the German army, but the exact number is not reported.
