Disabled Mobilization: Who may be called to the Armed Forces from May 1

The mobilization of disabled people of group I-III seems possible only at the request of the citizen. But men aged 25-55 who received a disability group after a full-scale invasion will need to confirm the diagnosis. The new law on mobilization, signed by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, stipulates that in 2024 mobilization for the disabled may take place with some changes. The text of the law is published on the site "Voice of Ukraine", the official edition of the Verkhovna Rada.

The mobilization of group II disabled people, as well as the mobilization of group III disabled people or I, is only possible at the request of the citizen. If a contract is signed with the Defense Forces of Ukraine. This is given a delay for 6-12 months. But if the conscripted men of 25-55 years received a disability group after a full-scale invasion of February 24, 2022, you will need to pass the VLK and confirm the diagnosis.

At the same time, the rule does not apply to conscripts with group I or II disabilities after injuries during service and protection of the country. After May 18, when the new mobilization law will come into force, three months later, a new list of diseases will be published, which will grant the status of "not suitable for military service". Let us remind you how to get a deferral and what documents are needed for the military enlistment office.
