The offensive potential was exhausted: the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will not be able to move in the coming months - ISW

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation could not benefit from previous successes in Bakhmut and Avdiivka. This demonstrates their inability to turn tactical successes into operational. The advance of the Russian army on Avdiivka and Bakhmut of Donetsk region is exhausted. Therefore, the attacks of Russians in eastern Ukraine are likely to end. In the future it is necessary to expect very small yields of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

Analysts of the Institute of War Study (ISW) write about it. The department noted that Russian troops could not benefit from previous successes in the Bakhmut and Avdiivka area. This demonstrates their inability to turn tactical successes into operational. "The Russian forces have not constantly managed to use tactical breakthroughs to maneuver into the rear districts of Ukraine or to fail a lot of Ukrainian defense borders.

Therefore, they constantly give Ukrainians time to tactically leave the battle and restore defensive positions," - said in ISW. Analysts believe that this tactic of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation explains their slow promotion and convincingly indicates that the army of the Russian Federation will not be able to capture more in the coming months, if the situation does not develop unpredictably.

"The Russian forces are likely to allocate enough resources for any one offensive operation to restore the momentum necessary for significant territorial promotion, which will lead to prompt success," experts write. We will remind, on August 21 the adviser to the chairman of the OP Mikhail Podolyak stated that Russia is a deep military personnel crisis. However, the Russian authorities will not declare general mobilization.
