The Russian Federation is storming Toretsk to have space to promote at the time of the ravine or Avdiivka - isw

According to analysts, the decision to advance under Toretsk indicates that the Russian command plans operations with a greater vision and understanding of the operational situation than before, when it insisted on conducting inconsistent offensive operations on unrelated areas of the front.

The relationship between current Russian offensive operations indicates that the Russian military command intends to use the offensive on Toretsk to create prompt opportunities to promote in the Time Yar or Avdiivka area. This is stated in the report of the American Institute of War Study (ISW) for July 2, 2024.

According to analysts, Russian preparations, which can be implemented in different directions, indicate a more advanced level of operational planning and prediction than the Russian command has been able to carry out in the war since the beginning of 2022. "However, the ability of this operational planning to implement will be limited by the overall low level of tactical capabilities of Russian troops, which are now fighting in these areas," the report reads.

The American Institute of War Study was explained that if the Russian troops manage to develop a greater performance in the noise-south-northern-to-Toretsk area, they will be able to create a more real threat to the time ravine from the south.

"The Russian command may have decided to intensify offensive operations near Toretsk in mid -June precisely because the area gives Russian troops a flexible point of departure, from which they can come either north in the direction of the time ravine, or west/southwest in the direction of Avdiivka Depending on which path of the offensive the Russian command will consider the most promising at that time, "the report reads.

ISW analysts noted that the decision to advance under Toretsk shows that the Russian command plans operations with a greater far -looking and understanding of the operational situation than before, when the Russian command insisted on conducting inconsistent offensive operations on unrelated areas of the front.

At the same time, the implementation of these operational plans depends on the tactical actions of the troops in the Toretsk area and their ability to use tactical successes for prompt significant breakthroughs.

"The main concentration of Russian forces in the Toretsk district is formed from low -skilled DNR forces and territorial troops, which will probably be difficult to carry out attacks, especially given that Ukraine will receive additional military assistance within the next weeks and months" emphasized in ISW.
