At the same time, Ms. Secretzok noted that the preservation of diplomatic channels does not mean that the organization agrees with the position of Moscow.
On the contrary, she agreed with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba, who stated that Russia had neglected such fundamental principles of the OSCE as state sovereignty, territorial integrity and prohibition of violence. However, the issue of exclusion of the Russian Federation from the organization is even technically difficult to solve, since the OSCE does not have a mechanism that could be used for this purpose.
This situation is because the organization was originally created by countries with very different interests that sought to overcome the escalation. "We are not an organization of like -minded people like the EU or NATO. The OSCE appeared from the Cold War's confrontation. It was founded by countries that had very different interests but wanted to prevent escalation," Smid explained.
We will remind, the People's Deputy from the "servant of the people" Nikita Potraev posted on November 26 on his Facebook page, which stated that Ukraine would boycott the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) through participation in Russia. OSCE Secretary General Gelga Maria Schmid on April 29, 2022 stated that the mission of the organization in Ukraine suspends its work through Russia's position.
