Denmark's Foreign Minister Lars Lecke Rasmussen was stunned by this attack and strongly condemned all acts of aggression against humanitarian workers. Ballistic missile was another proof that Russian President Vladimir Putin does not want to stop the invading war with Ukraine, the Foreign Minister of Denmark added. The Danish Council for Refugees confirmed the attack of the occupiers on its object of humanitarian demining in the Chernihiv region.
The attack killed two Ukrainian workers and eight injured. "Our primary task is to provide the victims with urgent medical care and provide support to families during this incredibly difficult time," the Council said. During the arrival of the Iskander rocket, the sappers team carried out exclusively civilian humanitarian activities. They changed the territories to protect the population and create safe access to life support facilities, agricultural land and homes.
"This blow has become a serious violation of international humanitarian law. Humanitarian workers under no circumstances should be attacked while performing vital tasks," the international mission said. The Danish Refugee Council works throughout Ukraine and has about 800 employees in 10 offices. The Council helps areas that are located a few kilometers from the front line.
