According to Igor Romanenko, the head of the Kremlin wanted to show the Russians "power", but only in fact recognized major losses among personnel. He also noted that according to the partners of Ukraine, the invaders lost 300-315 thousand people, and according to Ukrainian estimates-more than 340 thousand.

Romanenko pointed to a large number of Russian army and reserves that the Russian Federation has actually started along the entire length of the front. However, he emphasized their preparedness, because there is a difference between the prepared prisoners, partially mobilized and elite parts. According to the General Staff, as of December 22, the Russian army lost 351 thousand people in the war with Ukraine.

In particular, Vladimir Putin recently stated that 617 thousand military Russian military was involved in the war with Ukraine. However, there were 244,000 mobilized occupiers, 286,000 volunteers and 250,000 soldiers, which in February invaded Ukraine.
