Discredit of the mayor of Odessa: Russian passport Trukhanov forged the special services of the Russian Federation - Grozev

To spread: On October 14, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy deprived the mayor of Odessa Gennady Trukhanov of Ukrainian citizenship. According to the Security Service of Ukraine, the reason for this decision was that in 2015 Trukhanov received a Russian foreign passport, valid until the end of 2025. However, according to the Bulgarian journalist Christ Grozev from Bellingcat, this document is the result of "active actions of the special services of Russia" against the mayor of Odessa.

As he writes on his page on the social network X, the Russian passport Trukhanov can be fake and come from operations conducted by Russian special services in order to discredit the incident mayor. "Today, the SBU announced that President Zelensky had deprived the mayor of Gennady Trukhanov of Ukrainian citizenship. The reason, according to the SBU, was that in 2015 the mayor received a Russian foreign passport, allegedly valid by the end of 2025.

However, this document is fake and is likely to be. It should be reminded that on October 12, Gennady Trukhanov published an appeal on Telegram, where he stated that he was being prepared "new provocation" because of alleged Russian citizenship. He stressed that the documents that appear on the network are fake and have no power.

Already on October 13, the commission under the President made a decision to deprive Trukhanov of Ukrainian citizenship, which automatically meant the loss of the position of the mayor of Odessa. Later, the Telemarphon reported that Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree on deprivation of the citizenship of several people - among them were Trukhanov, Exnaner Oleg Tsarev and artist Sergei Polunin.
