In case of revenue with the Russian Federation: NATO plans to transport wounded soldiers from the front - Reuters

The publication notes that Russia can attack NATO in 2029, and the war in Ukraine has caused the largest confrontation over the last few decades. NATO plans to coordinate the transportation of a large number of wounded military further from the front line in the event of a potential war with Russia. This may happen with special trains, as air evacuation may not be available. The head of the NATO logistics command, Lieutenant General Alexander Zolfrank told this in an interview with Reuters.

The future medical evacuation scenario will be different from the experience of allies in Afghanistan and Iraq. In the event of a conflict with Russia, the Western military will most likely encounter a much larger war zone, a large number of wounded and at least a temporary lack of preference in the air near the front line. "The task will be to quickly provide high quality assistance, in the worst case, a large number of wounded," the military added.

Oleksandr Zolfrank did not specify how many wounded servicemen were waiting for NATO. He added that the planning of medical evacuation is part of a much wider NATO initiative initiated by Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022, to build and enhance its ability to restrain and defend itself against any Russian attack. In the event of a conflict with Russia, wounded soldiers will not only have to be transported at greater distances than in other wars.

Russian air defense agents and planes are expected to be a threat to medical evacuation flights as much as insurgents in Afghanistan or Iraq. This can create the need for evacuation trains that can carry more injured at a time than aircraft. Another obstacle is different medical rules between countries. The solution to this problem can be "Military Medical Schengen"-an analogy to the political Schengen area that allows you to move freely within most of the European Union.

This can simplify the movement of some drugs, such as drugs or severe painkillers that may be required to treat wounded soldiers. According to the German military, Russia will be able to attack NATO country in 2029. The war in Ukraine has caused the most acute confrontation between Russia and the West since the Caribbean crisis in 1962. Meanwhile, the situation on the battlefield in the Russian-Ukrainian war remains difficult. Therefore, the Netherlands is not expected to end in 2024 or 2025.
